The works were exhibited in restaurants, a winery, in stores, and other businesses, also in a library museum.
ARTAMO·ART is continuing with a long-term exhibition of Ann Baldwin’s art at the Karpeles Library and Manuscript Museum in Santa Barbara (usually open Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 5 p.m., but currently closed because of the coronavirus situation).
All works at the Karpeles Museum are available through ARTAMO·ART.
ONGOING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
ARTAMO·ART and the Karpeles Museum in Santa Barbara present Scriptopics, an ongoing exhibition of mixed media paintings by Ann Baldwin. The permanent exhibition, ongoing since 2016, was just extended in May 2021 and new works were added.
Ann Baldwin from London, England, began painting seriously after moving to the San Francisco area in 1991. There she formed the connection between her love of literature and her work as a visual artist. Her collages are a sensual and emotional response to the theatre, layering images from old programs, incorporating excerpts from scripts, pasting on phrases which instantly bring to mind the experience of play-going onto on her large canvases. She explores both the visual effects of text and its tendency to carry meaning. — All works shown are available through ARTAMO·ART.
